Just wanted to say thanks to all for the help and advice I've had here in recent months, and that the work in Ed's videos is good stuff.
I've just been to the park with my bhoy and his training is really starting to come together.
He's only 8 months and I know I still have a long way to go but today feels like reward for all the hard work we've been putting in .
Man it feels good to have a dog that want's to work for you!
This forum/website is by far the best training "institution" I have found.
I have been reading article after article and "search"ing various topics applicable to my dog. Amazing. He has always been one of those dogs eager to please, however, what I am learning now is so incredibly motivating for ME to take his training to the next level.
It seems our whole relationship is up to me...my abilities as his trainier are the "make it, break it" for him.
I have committed 20 mins (sometimes more) every morning for "OUR" time. This consistant effort has *definately* paid off, for me and for my 5.5 year old shepherd.
He used to get spazed and too excited about going out (even though we'd go 5-6 times week). However, I think now that we have a consistant, structured forum to follow, he has developed an understanding. He is calm when we get ready to go; not only for structured time, but for the "free for all play" walks too.
Your enthusiam is motivating. Thank YOU too for "chiming In" with your success.
