Ok, you all have helped with the scratching, and the nipping. No I have another question.
I've been taking him to a large gated area to play. He loves to run. And man is he fast. Thank god there is a gate that we lock. But when we try to play with a ball, he has NO interest in it.
Does he just not like the ball? Or are we doing something wrong?
Put your dog on a leash n hold the ball between your fingers n put it near his face then quickly pull it away from him, n see if you can try to stir up some prey drive in the dog to try and get the moving object. Or you can try putting the ball on a leash with duct tape n drag it along the grass in front of him with quick short jerks every now n then to try and get the dog to try and grab it. The building drive & focus DVD from Leerburg will go into alot more depth on bringing out your dogs prey drive. Try it with different toys like a tug or something else if your dog doesn't seem to like the ball for some reason.
Note: Your fingers may get bitten if you hold it between your fingers <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> Do this at your own risk!
