Leah.....just bring it to Animal Control and forget about it....that is the right thing to do! It probably has one of those cat dieases anyway.
If everyone in became veg-heads and animal rights people. The human race would die off, the animals would breed like rats, spread all kinds of nasty things...like the bird flu....veg-heads would be on the hit list because they are eating things intended for the animals...........I wonder what the animal rights people would live off of? Face it we will all die.
The funniest thing I ever saw was a group of these people at a dog show passing out anti-puppy mill flyers. They were yelling and screaming at us, no one I know is a mill and for some reason I doubt the dogs at the event were products of a mill. We all thought the cause was good but the place and delivery of the message was all wrong .....someone gave them direction to the nearest mall with a pet store. I saw another group in PHX, in 110 degree weather passing out (no pun) anti-fur flyers. I can tell you at 110 I am not the least bit concerned about fur coats. The whole fur thing back fired anyway.....these people created a glut and fur prices dropped and lots of coats ended up in consignments....making fur more affordable.....duh.....didn't work as planned. When I lived, fur become everyday wear because it cost less than a warm cloth coat..no one lived in fear...you all know what will happen if you mess with a Jersey girl!
They are every where, they all think the cause is good...some day they will look back and see what fools they really are. I maybe way wrong here, I think one of the main reason these people are always complaining is because they wear cheap, plastic shoes....it's making them real crabby....their feet hurt. May a new group should start...and donate used leather shoes to these people....make them a little more comfortable....so they shut up?
I think there's a balance here that's being missed...most people concerned about animal rights are well-intentioned. This thread was shedding light on those LUNATICS that take things so far to the extreme that they totally lose sight of the original cause (like dead cats on doorsteps-doesn't make a lotta sense...)
Deb, it's beginning to sound like you're just a cat-hater all around .
...some day they will look back and see what fools they really are.
I doubt it, people who are bored enough to create that kinda drama in their life will never change their mind. People with real lives try to escape the drama... people who create it need real lives, then they'll shut up.
Deb, thanks for the advice. I will make an executive decision about the cat depending on what the vet has to say about his health. If I do opt to take him to animal control my only real concern will be my roommate. She sees that cat as hers. And I can certainly see why feral cats may not be your favorite animals.
Leah
On no I don't hate cats at all. I have cared for several in my life time. Most all the cats that I did care for, where left behind by owners who moved and thought the best thing to do was toss the animal away. I guess my real issue is with people who do this.
You you are right...people who lose sight in the original cause use any tactic....dead cats, the trade center, etc to catch the attention of the rest of the world. Their actions don't make any sense to the rest of us...they have to draw attention to the cause....so you blow something up or burn something down....the offenders think the cause gets the attention. When you look back at all the causes over the years....that ended in a big bang......no one really remembers the cause but the protest of the cause is never forgotten. Everyone loses sight of the cause.
