My pup is about 5 months old and teething. Last nite I gave him a bone to chew on. He chewed on it for hours last nite. Today I noticed how bite on the tug was real soft. I tried opening his mouth to look at his teeth. He yelped when I tried to do this so I stopped. He also seems less active too. Do you think this was caused because he is teething and he chewed on a bone for a long time which caused his gums/teeth to become more sore? (prior to today, he would chew on anything he can get his mouth on to and his bite was a hard one)
These problems are teething related. You should back off of most training that involves the dogs mouth during teething. This has been written about extensively on my web site and the board. This thread is closed.
