I posted on here yesterday about the way my mama dog was acting. Well I believe I have solved the problem, as little as it was. I moved all the pups into my bedroom closet and they are all doing fine and being fed regularly like they are suppost to be. I believe it was an isolation issue for my mama dog. We put here and the pups in her whelping box in the utility room right beside our kitchen. I believe she felt isolated and scared. We thought it would be a good place that would be quiet for her and the pups. I do not think she saw it that way though. She is acting happy and barking at me to follow her in the closet. She is no longer shaking or running from her pups. I called my vet and told her what I had done and she said hey if it works just leave it be. I wish I would of done this earlier so she would not of had to go through so much stress. I guess it is a lesson learned on my part. I love that girl. She saved my life about a year and a half ago from a burglar would be murderer. She dropped her first litter a week after the incident. She fought for my life even though she had life inside her. It is amazing the love and compassion you get from mans best friend.

But this part QUOTE: She has also lost weight terribly. She will not hardly eat. END QUOTE doesn't seem to be related to the isolation thing. Was it? I hope she has started eating normally or that she has a vet appointment.
Yes, I have already taken her to the vet. One thing I believe in is that a dog should have the same care when pregnant that a woman would have, including after giving birth. She has been looked over thoroughly by my vet. She has had a ultrasound to make sure that nothing was left up inside her when she gave birth. They cannot find nothing medically wrong with her except that she needs to gain weight, all her test were fine according to the vet. Today she has been eating really well, she even took her vitamins, which she has not been doing. I am to take her back to the vets next week for another follow-up appt.
