When considering German Shepherds, and assumming a life span of 10 to 13 years. When is a stud dog normally retired from breeding? Or a different question would be , "Is there an age when male dogs stop producing?" An answer to either or both would help me out.
It depends on the dog. I've seen males sterile at 8 that were find previously, others at 10-12 that are still fertile. If there are no health issues and everything is in order you can breed a male until 12 with the AKC (without getting special permission.)
