Gypsy too had the hiccups often as a pup, some days having 3-5 episodes a day. When I inquired about the hiccups to her vet...he stated this was a typical puppy thing that would eventually stop as she got older and he was right, she stopped .
Her hiccup episodes became less numerous around 6-7 mths, completely ending close to 9 mths. I to thought it was due to her eating to fast however the vet stated it was more about just having a hyper-active esophagus.
However, keep in mind that diagnosing over the Internet is impossible... But...What I like most about the boards/forums, regarding general health, I find it a great tool for better communication w/your vet as some experiences by others allows you to inquire on certain issues one would of never considered. Additionally, finding certain issues experienced being more common than first thought can be easily verified with a telephone call to the vet "who knows your pup" which I recommend. I have found doing this to be benefical as well as it has saved me trip or two to the vet’s office.
My Dane puppy gets them too numerous times throughout the day and my vet told me it is very common in puppies and they'll outgrow it. As you are I was a little worried too as my pup is prone to bloat and I was thinking 'Oh no Air etc etc etc!' I have to laugh at myself now.

Unfortunately he is really gulping food down at the moment (very hungry/greedy pup) so I'm having to scatter it across the floor (clean of course).I've tried putting heavy objects in his bowl to slow him down but he justs throws them out.
