I have a 8m old female just went into heat for the first time. how long does it last. I also have 2y male GSD. I don't want her having puppies at this time. How long do I keep them apart. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
My 10 month old female just finished her first heat cycle, took her 30 days. From what I understand they vary and my suggestion is to keep them apart for at least a month, to be safe.
Im waiting for my bitch's heat cycle, it's been 7 months now since her last heat, is this normal? What i've read was to wait for only 6 months. Im sure she hasn't silent heated.
It will vary from bitch to bitch. She may not be interested one morning, and later that afternoon you could end up with a tie. Seperate them. It is temporary. Be glad it isn't every month... your boy will be. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
