My 12 year old GSD/Retriever mix just passed away a few weeks ago. My 2 year old GSD spayed female is in need of a companion. Before I go and buy a GSD pup, I thought I would check to see if there are any rescue dogs that need a good home or if anyone knows of any young adult dogs that are for sale. I would be interested in a GSD or GSD mix. I would like a young dog about 6-12 months but would take a look at anything really as long as it didn't have any inherent problems.
I'm with my dogs pretty much all the time. I work from home. They are house dogs and have a big yard with underground fence. I take them running, for walks and to soccer practice three times a week. My dogs are well trained and come when called right away...even if playing with other dogs or chasing a rabbit.

Did you get him from this list, or another resource? There is
a GSD online club I belong to, which advertised a 12 week old
registered GSD male FREE (owners couldn't keep/son's dog/etc.)
- but that fell through!
Anyway, are you going to post his picture? What about bloodlines?
