Hello to all....I am so glad I have happened upon this site! Lots of good info. I have had GSD's all my life, but usually American line. I also have an Akita. And have had a beautiful and amazingly intelligent Border Collie....but my heart always lies with the Shepherd. I recently purchased a GSD puppie for my daughter who lives alone. She is Full Czech working line. This is a very new experience for me. There is definately a difference from the American bred. She is such a sweety, highly intelligent, but much more driven and aggressive. I will definately be needing some training on how to best channel her energy. After 5 minutes of having "Yogi", she became my shadow! She was very shy and had nothing to do with any strangers. Now she is exhibiting much aggressiveness toward strangers or even people she sees occasionally. I am hoping this forum will help me understand her needs and behaviors. She is now just at 5 months, still floppy earred on one side. She still has some baby premolars & canines. I want to train her right and I think, from what I have read, getting her into Schutzhund would be the best thing ....and she would love it! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v360/bellaluca/WEBIT2/228_2812.jpg
