P.S. Avocados can be toxic to dogs in large amounts.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow, just like birds, eh? Noted! Do you happen to know what constitutes "large amounts?" END QUOTE
QUOTE: All parts of the avocado tree, including the leaves, bark, seeds and fruit, are toxic to dogs. Persin, a fatty acid derivative, is the toxin in this plant. Signs include breathing difficulties, an extended or enlarged abdomen, and fluid accumulation in the abdomen, the chest, and sac around the heart.....At this time, the amount of avocado fruit or other plant parts needed to toxify your dog is unknown, so do not feed any of this toxic food to your pet. Some specialized pet food manufacturers are putting avocado in their products. Avoid those products until research proves that avocado fruit are safe for dogs. END
About the salmon poisoning -- it's about *raw* salmon, not canned or cooked or salmon jerky. And some say it's limited to the West Coast, but my own feeling is that I don't want to risk it. Actually, I don't feed other fish raw, either, because of parasites I've read about.
And no raw bears!

When I looked at lists of toxic plants, before planting our garden here in Spain, I thought it might be easier to produce a list of plants which are not 'toxic' to some degree
Even now, I've made some errors, but, fortunately our 'pup' is big/sensible enough not to eat them - she just tramples them
