My husband and I are going to take our 18-24 month old male GSD (Rescued, Long-Haired)to the Vet because we think he has trouble seeing. I read that dogs see BETTER at night. Once it gets dark, he will bark at anyone that is down the hall <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />. We have to have the kids turn the lights on when they come down the hallway so he can see it's them! If the person talks, or there it is NOT dark, he is fine. He really acts like he cannot see properly. Anyone out there ever have a dog with vision issues??
Thanks, Debbie
I had a dog go blind w/cataracts (fixed) and the eye specialist said that dogs don't see any better than we do at night. They rely on scent, so they *appear* to be more comfortable at night than we are.
