Well, I'm happy to report that last night he slept through the night for the first time!! He started to whimper around 4am (typical) and we thought let's just see how much longer he can go. He settled down on his own and woke again around 6:45 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />. Also, yesterday we practiced putting him his crate more and for longer periods while we were in the house. Yes, at first he barked and whined, but he settled on his own. I always went back to reward him when he was quiet, and I think he has already learned the command 'go to your crate'. Of course he is looking to me for his treat as he walks towards it!
So let's just hope things continue on this path.
I'm still waiting eagerly for the puppy dvd to arrive as well!
Good to hear! It seems just when you get so exasperated that you want to yell "Once more and back to the breeder/shelter you go!" is when they finally just kind of chill out. You and the pup keep up the good work. He'll be a year old before you know it!
