Google GSD Club of America, call one of the officers listed & ask for the website/email of their local affiliate group in the ArkLaTex area (or whatever big city you live near) -- They love collecting membership dues & will welcome you with open arms <:-)
Here might be a better question - why bother?
And I mean this sincerely!
The "national" club for AKC German Shepherds in the German Shepherd Dog Club of America , and that club is no friend to the GSD, believe me. This club has fostered the decrease of GSD's with any type of working ability and dumped on us a slope backed bag of nerves that can only run around in a circle.
Honestly, if you want to be around people that actucally care what a GSD is suppose to be like, join SchH USA.
As far a local clubs, you'd find the best group of people to be with by seeking out an Obedience training club or an Agility club.
Most "breed" clubs are pretty disfunctional and run by the conformation people, so they're often crap. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
Thank you Will, I made my last post without seeing yours. So I'll look into your links. Abi and her parents don't really have sloped backs, they are more straight. (If you see my pups pedigree, you'll see what I mean, Just look up Odett von der Malchower Aue or Abigal von der Mueller)
In that case, follow Will's advice & find a local training club for obedience, agility, therapy work, service dogs, or Schutzhund, if you want a multi-breed group <:-)
