In the Flinks DVD on building Drive it is hard to tell what kind of collar should be used. It seems like some dogs are weraing prongs and others are wearing a flat collar. Should I be using a flat collar???
Yes use a flat collar or a prong (with the prongs Outward). Later on, you might need to use the prong (with proper fitting) for enforcing the "OUT".. but I would leave that till later ahead..
Matt,
Bernhard uses a plain ol' prong collar on most dogs that I saw during drive work- remember, his concept is "drive, compulsion, drive".
John, after seeing Bernhard in seven seminars, I never saw a dog being trained with the prongs facing outward - did he demonstrate that at a seminar for ya'll? ( Bernhard is always changing his style just a bit here and there, I like to keep current! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> )
