Ok, while it might seem like a silly question to ask, i figured better safe than sorry.
My current dog has a white muzzle (not because of age)and i noticed that although he has a black nose, on the top of his muzzle right by the nose he has pink skin. He has it around his lips too right below the nose.
Now on Saturday after spending about 3 hours outside ( i was gardening he was chasing shadows) i noticed when i came in that that pink area seemed to be a bit more on the red side. Now i would think that he got a little sunburnt out there, so should i be putting something on that area when we're going to be outside? Or would that be counter-productive considering he will more than likely just lick it off?
Any suggestions???? Or am I worrying?

I don't have first-hand experience with my dogs, but there are a zillion products for this.
You can also actually have the nose tattooed if you want to go that far. You do want to protect with sunscreen at least; dogs get solar dermatitis and skin cancer same as we do.
