My 17 month old female gsd has began to Pee when I get home. When I walk up to her she lays her ears back goes down low and pees. She used to do this with my wife when she was a pup.
This behavior just started a couple of weeks ago. It only happens when I get home after being gone for a few hours, but I do kind of watch how I approach her. She did it for my wife tonight after she hot home.
I gave her a correction while on a walk two weeks ago. Nothing hard. She usually walks off leash and I just pulled her closer a little roughter than normal. Could this be the problem? It started happening shortly after.
The only other time she did this was when she was 7 mo or so old. I think she was jostling for postion with the wife because she never did it for me.
No worries Mike. I know you were just giving some ideas.
I am with the dog almost 24/7 and we do between 3 and 5 miles every day together. That includes obedience training and some tracking through drive. We also do a lot of play and tugging through out the day.
I think you may be right about this being a stage. I will do a search and see what comes up.
