I own a now 20 month old male GSD. As a puppy I enrolled him in puppy play classes in my attempt to socialize avoid dog aggression issues. This is my first GSD and the trainer I have used for years who owns GSD's had suggested that once "Floyd" approached his adolescent stage he would not trust him with other males.......ever. I didn't believe him and felt the puppy play he had gone to for months would eliminate that worry.
Here I am now with a dog that presents as dog aggressive. I have not given him the opportunity to engage in a fight but all body posturing suggests he indeed will go that route with any dog we have come across on our walks.
I do use a Sprenger pinch collar.
Any advice as to how to discourage this behaviour? I don't care about how he gets along with other dogs but I do want to be able to walk him without these horrible outbursts.
