I have red the article.
We will try this method:and we have to do it both of us,because she ahs to obey us both, not just one person.
Get a dog crate.
Do nopt allow others to per her.
Keep a leash on her all the time when she is out of the crate
And do obedience exersices. She knows them, but still i believe has a part to play.
She loves food, loves to be patted? ( do i spell it right? on the head.Never pulls on the lead.Has a sift character, but needs rules in her life, even if she does not think so.
You mentioned "new" boyfriend. Don't know if that is what you meant, but when I read that it made me wonder about the introduction process. How did this happen? Was the dog suddenly placed in new home without having seen it before? Had she met the boyfriend before? The other dog? From what you have written, it appeared to me she was "plopped" into a new situation and this may be her way of controlling what she knows.
I think there is some good advice so far in how to cope with her behaviour.
However, it seems you are leaning toward getting rid of this dog. Is your boyfriend "pushing" for this too? Dogs are filled with sense. (Does that make sence? <img src="http://www.leerburgkennels.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
I would change your approach to gaining her compliance, because the current one is causing her to shut down. You need to use a different strategy before you create more problems. If a harsh voice and collar correction are throwing her into avoidance, stop doing that and try another way method. Preferably a more motivating one.
