Another thought.........this might be a sign of seperation anxiety. My friend has a dog that started doing the same thing at about that age, maybe a little older. She used to be able to leave him in all day, then he started pooping and peeing in the house. It got progressively worse to the point she couldn't even leave for 30 minutes. Vet diagnosed her dog with severe seperation anxiety and put him on meds which helps. He also started chewing things up about 2 years ago in addition to the pooping. As he gets older, he gets worse. He is 9 now.
I would just back up and crate the dog for a month or so when you leave the house.. then gradually let her loose again.. start out slow, when you know you will only be gone a short while and build the time up.
