Malik is almost 1 yr 1/2 old and has recently had a front leg surgery which is still recovering from. http://www.illustraline.com/malik.html
He used to be a food hound before that as he got a lot of exercise. He didn't for 2 months during recovery, and during that time he more or less lost his appetite. Once we started exercise again, he got better, but he is still terribly picky: we give him 250 g +/- twice a day, this morning he only finished his meal as my husband was standing there encouraging him. Tonight, he didn't want to eat, only ate around 9:30 pm once I put some Zuke treats in his food. Often he will simply skip his breakfast.
He has good biscuit drive during training, but there is no saying whether he'll have his meal or not, even if he's exercised plenty (unless a 5 miles hike but it 's been a tad too early for that).
So I wonder if any of you have suggestions, have had the same experience, and if we should be concerned. He has lost a lot of muscle mass through recovery, and we'd like to get him a little more muscular now. He's on IVD Potato/Duck as it's the only food he likes right now ($70 for 35 lbs, yikes!)
Thanks ahead!
