When do I, or should I at all, start limiting my older dog's activity?
She is almost seven, but shows this past year many signs of being a senior.
Lately on our runs, even the shorties (say two miles) she is bobbling a bit in the shoulders, although she continues to try to pull ahead and wants to keep running if i stop and walk her.
On our walks, which can get quite long, say three to seven miles, I have noticed the same thing.
She does not limp afterwards or show any soreness later, although maybe she sleeps a bit more than she used to afterwards. She has no painful or tender spots when I feel on her, and I think it's just part of her getting older.
She still wants very much to come along, and goes nuts when she sees the running shoes come out. It is a hard choice for me to make-I know she loves to go, but I don't know if it's that good for her anymore. What do you folks with senior dogs do at this stage?
