My dog just had a tumor removed this week. I'm waiting for the biopsy results. My neighbors dog was just found to have a tumor also. We both go to the same vet and we both get all those shots that are reccomended by the vet. My question is: could these tumors be caused by the shots he's given? Also, what are the odds of two dogs living next door to each other having tumors(same type) at the same time? Is there anything I can do to prevent more tumors or is it just genetic? The vet gave a standard answer of "you can't tell why they occur".
thanks for your time, Nick Bubbico
There are so many differnt histological types of tumors that until you get the type of tumor it was ( from the pathology result ) you're just guessing, so don't dwell on it until then.
"tumors" at injections sites are often the result of sterile abcesses - this occurs in humans also. Not much you can do about them.
get all those shots that are reccomended by the vet. My question is: could these tumors be caused by the shots he's given Absolutely. There are a lot of the things that are in the vaccines besides the vaccine. A good book to read is Catherine O'Driscolls, What the Vets Don't Tell You About Vaccines.
She lost 3 of her goldens to cancer and thus started some massive research. She very much beleives that her dogs cancer was caused by the vaccinations and over vaccination.
Nick, I feel that it happens to be a flook that your dog and the neighbor dog has a tumar. There are new protocals going out about vaccines. Many new Vets are being tought the new and the old Vets are still going by the past. I no longer give the DHLPP-BC. I only give the rabies(it's by law) One of my dogs' face blew up like a Shar-pi after she had her vaccines. She's a corgi, so you can amagine what her face looked like. I've been to some seminars and have read alot about this, I do believe our dogs are being over vaccinated WAY TOO much. There is really nothing you can do to prevent tumors. It's genetic and breed oriented. And it just happens sometimes. I think more than not, that in young dogs, it's
B-nine, not cancerus. But you can help your dog by not giving those vaccines every stinking year. I hope that your dog is ok. My prayers are with you all.
Good luck, Brandi
Thanks everyone. I just re-read Ed's articles concerning vaccinosis. I'm definatly going to order the book related to this. Thanks again for all your help. -Nick Nubbico
