I'm wondering if Kasity (6yr gsd bitch) may be getting the beginning of arthritis in her right rear leg. Last winter I noticed if she was laying outside in the cold for more the 30 min, when she would get up she was gimpy in that right rear leg and after a minute or so she was o.k. A couple of weeks ago she took a fall on the ice on the same leg and came up really limping. She shook it off and was fine. Now I'm seeing that if she's outside and laying in the cold again she comes up with a limp in that leg and after it warms up she is o.k. She was OFA "good" but that was when she was 2 years old. I'm wondering about any supplements or possibly giving of aspirin (anti-inflamatory) to either head this off or to keep it from getting any worse. Once she warms it up she is 100%. No problems jumping, running or hitting at all. When it's warmer outside no trouble either. Any comments welcome.
Thanks!!
