Only 1 of my 6 mo old pup's ears stood so the breeder taped them together. That came apart after a week so the breeder glued her ears together. (Breeder didn't want me to re-tape) Breeder says it may cause pup to lose some hair, but nothing permanent. Also said, may cause ears to stand toward the center a bit too much, but its my best bet at this late age. The glue is like a rubber cement glue & so far has held for a week and a half. Anyone with experience with gluing ears? Comments? My pup had ear infections at 4 months & why I'm addressing this problem so late . . . could the ear infections be why both ears didn't stand to begin with? This is a pup with 2 champion grandparents, gorgeous parents & yet so many problems . . . I just don't get it.
While I have used "skin bond" in taping cropped ears to stand, I have never glued two ears together with it. I can't imagine that it is going to make a bit of difference at this point other than to, as your breeder mentioned, give you ears that point to the center instead of left and right.
The ear infections could have affected the standing, or the fact that they were not standing could have influenced the infections, no way for someone to tell you that over the net.
Best of luck with the ears. Nothing is totally impossible, I have seen some strange things happen.
