Hello All,
I am wondering what some of the long timers of BARF do about feeding veggies. I have read that some of the folks who feed BARF feed veggies and others do not. What is the general feeling of those who have been feeding BARF over the longer periods of time. I have been feeding BARF for my dog for the past 6 months more or less. Some times my wife and I feed veggies and other times we use Green Tripe. What do most of the folks who have been at this diet for lets say for 3 to 5 years, what are those folks doing about veggies? Would feeding real Green Tripe replace feeding veggies or is this not a good way to go over all? Would like to here from Connie and Cindy on what they are doing, I know that the two of them have been at this a while. What about others out there who have been feeding the raw diet for the past 3 to 5 years, what are you all doing?
Thanks for the replies.
Jay
Max currently gets Kelp, Alpha, Salmon Oil, Vit C and Vit E
Mostly Cheicken Necks, Backs and hamburger and beef heart, about 70 percent of this is RMB and the other 30 percent is organ/muscle meat.
LOL.. before some one asks, yes his Stools are fine :-)

I think green tripe is great but can't get it often.
I'm not obsessive about the vegetable processing; I pick young tender greens from the farmers' market (usually big cheap bags of bruised or somewhat overripe stuff).
I avoid starchy and sugary stuff like peas and corn.
If I am processing something, I add the plain yogurt and the organ meat, which one of my dogs will leave in the bowl for days (even though he's otherwise a Hoover-dog), and I mix it all up.
My dogs eat it all happily.
I also know dogs who do great on very little green stuff.
My own philosophy is that I'd rather not exclude something that the scavenger-omnivores might include on their own.
