I also know someone that has something called a "Timber Shepherd" , and this thing is HUGE. Pretty dog, Luke has played with it a few times, but it has issues, it is scared of just about everything. I saw the papers, they looked official enough, he showed them to me because I was telling him he was feeding me a crock, and that that dog was a mutt.
I like to joke around sometimes and he got all goofey and went to get the papers. LOL!
If everyone is thinking alike, then someone isn't thinking.
You see this all the time, professional athletes, folks in the entertainment industry and so on. They'll have this HUGE, like 140lb supposedly GSD........
Yep, and those two professions are populated by some of the stupidest people on this planet. And their ability to wisely buy a dog is about.....nil.
And then you see bozo wannabe kennels that have entire pages dedicated to the celebrities and professional athletes that have bought their crap dogs.
And of course.....the uneducated pet buyers fall for those ads like the suckers that they are.
I think egos are involved here as well, Will. Ego plus inexperience and/or stupidity equals things with names like Warlock Dobes, King Shepherds, etc. They see celebs w/these dogs and just want to tell their friends they have a dog just like person x who plays for the such and such team...sad, really.
You should see all the people who look at me with a "Gosh, did you get ripped off" look when I say yes, my dog is pure GSD. No, not a lab with pointy ears. They're clueless about dogs, quality of dogs, cost of quality dogs, etc.
I feel sorry for the health-compromised animals that are brought into this world to be a novelty for a moron.
Here in Las Vegas we have no shortage of people who buy dogs from breeders that advertise about past customers that are celebs ( as if their dogs are so special) I know a woman that bought a Schz.2 female for $10,000 and she has no score book to prove it.That dog never had a title 2 if you ask me .She would not retrieve a dumbell or a ball for that matter and then in protection she hid behing her new owner and her obedience was horrible.Than a friend of my sisters' bought a male Schutz2 from a kennel in california that also said "he sold to Britney Spears and others".She paid $20,000 for her dog , when she saw mine on the field she says to me "you must have paid more money than I did ,your dog listens so well. These people deserve what they get.Because even when you tell them to go back to the breeder and demand papers, or score books they won't do it.They don't want to face the fact they got ripped off.
