My rotweiler just had puppies 3 days ago. She had them all under the house and we cannot get to any of them except one. She wasn't feeding him so we brought him inside with us. He has drank from his mother 2 times. The rest has been nurse maid. When he was first born his mouth was cool, and he had lots of energy, but wasn't going to the bathroom that much, now he is going to the bathroom more with a yellow tint to it, and he isn't wanting to drink as much, and he hasn't got much energy. Also, he was kinda bloated looking at first and now since he has been going to the bathroom more, he is starting to not look so bloated, but he still has weight on him. He also seems to have a bit of a fever. Does anyone have anything that could help me, and the puppy, this is breaking my heart. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I would not get your hopes up. When a mother dog rejects a pup, it's often a pup that isn't going to survive anyway.
When I was growing up on the farm, we would try to save baby pigs that were rejected. The results were rarely good. The few we did save never really thrived.
Thank you for that information. My boyfriend told me from the begining not to get my hopes up. I am trying not to, but it's hard. I just wnat him to survive so bad. In the past 5 days that I have been taking care of him, I have grown very attached I guess. I know I will cry, if he doesn't make it, but I am going to keep trying and make him as comfortable as possible until that happens. Again Thanks.

we were going to take him to the vet this afternoon if he wasn't any better, they are only open sat. afternoon's, but he passed away this morning. He didn't suffer too badly, i dont think. I put his blankie in a rubbermade container, and put him in it. We had a small "funeral" for him and buried him in the back yard. LOL his mommy even came. I am very sad, been crying off and on all day, but I know he is better off, he isn't suffering anymore. Again, thanks for all your help. Mommy and rest of puppies are doing great, shoot, the next day after Missi had the puppies she was jumping around again.
