If I search a dog on the OFA website (and there's no typos), and nothing comes up - does that mean the dog hasn't been tested for anything? Or are there other organizations that handle the tests? I'm looking at a few different breeders and a couple have bred litters with dogs I can't find on the OFA website.
Anyway, if anyone knows anything about this, let me know!
Just type in the last name of the dog. For example if I am looking for leerburg I just type in Leerburg and it brings up all the dogs. They are in alphabetical order. So try typing in the the last part of the dogs registered name
Thanks, I thought I had tried that but when trying again I found just what I was looking for. I've been using the site all day; what fun it is to research ridgeback breeders. Hah. (Seriously, I actually enjoy it, I'm a nerd)
Depends on what genetic test you are searching for. For example, unless a breed lists Pennhip as a CHIC requirement, OFA won't list Pennhip results on their site.
For diseases like PRA, some breeds do not require mandatory results be publicized. When the PRCD test came out for ACDs, the national breed club put it to vote and voted to require that all PRCD test results be publicized if the dog is from the US. Not all breeds require this so a dog might have been tested but the owner chose not to publicize the results for whatever reason.
