Thanks for all of the PM's and responses about Xant and some of his progeny.
A Big thanks to Will and Van Camp for their insight and praise of the Czech Dogs character and work ethic. I have lurked on this board for a year soaking all of these posts up and without a doubt it is the best place for people looking for those that are working with dogs day in, day out.
Just in: Xant will be bred to Puci Jipo Me, A Norbo Ben Ju Daughter with Titus and Cordon Ansat in her line as well.
I know a lot about Norbo and nothing about Cordon. What I do know about Cordon is he shows up A LOT with fine examples of Czech dogs that are "True to the type and like to eat people.......!"
I would be interested to hear opinions on this breeding.
Don't know about the other names you mention, but I have a 1/4 Czech, 11 month-old great-grandson of Titus. He's my 3rd GSD and first Schutzhund dog. As a young puppy he looked like a little tank - broad body and legs like tree trunks. Apparently that bone structure comes through his mother, from Titus' sire, Bero, although his mother is quite small herself. As for character, he has fanatical prey drive and great self-confidence, yet he's very sociable and outgoing to both people and dogs (and cats). I attribute all his good qualities to those Czech lines, and all his faults to the other lines. And just because I'm half Czech myself does NOT mean I'm biased!
Update: The litter will be whelped on or around 12/26/06 and I have my fingers crossed that I will have my pup in March 2007.
I will keep everyone that wants to know, I am just hoping that his ride on the plane will be alright. Florida is a long way from the Czech. Then again, they do it all the time.......
