Wendy, Mine lives in the house without any problems. We do lots of things to burn off energy and I do know that for some it just doesn't work at all. Depends on the dog. Some do have an On/Off switch, sort of.... A good breeder that knows their dogs can help you with that and starting with a puppy probably makes a difference.

Hmm...you know i always worried that i just wouldn't be able to tire one out....but i guess the breeder would know if he had any pups that might not have the drive needed to be a working dog, and would be fine for someone who wanted one for more of a pet. I don't mean one thats going to lounge around all day and sit in my lap. I am pretty active myself.
I just have the mind set that unless they're going to used for PPD or Schutzund...they would be kind of hard to handle.
