I have been researching two different Libraries in my area for books dealing with Canine Nutrition. I am sad, pissed off and upset to report that I only found two books that were written on Canine Nutrition recently. All the other books are either old, out of date, or do not reference nutrition at all. It amazes me that in todays world you can find tons of books in our Libraries concerning Homosexuality, Chemistry books that teach you how to make illicit drugs, Gold Fish, tons on wildlife, etc; but nothing involving all of the new ideas and stratigies concerning the proper nutrition of todays dogs.
The two books I found are:
Feeding Your Dog For Life by Diane Morgan.
The Holistic Dog Book written by Denise Flaim.
I have found both books to be interesting enough to wet my appetite for more reading by different people because I wanted to do some comparisons (sp) before attempting to supplement both of my dogs diets. I have gone back and read most if not all of the posts on this board and find most of the information thrown about either lacking information concerning dosages, people getting off topic, and or no to few if any references backing up there claims. I don't pretend to know anything about anything but I do believe in reading as much as I can about all of this in order to make up my own mind as to what is best for my dogs health. I wish the knowledgeable people on this board would either help answer "in detail" not only my questions but others. There seems to be a pattern of only answering "some" of the questions, and it always leaves me thinking about more questions. Sorry blowing off some steam here. I'll bet others on this board feel the same way I do but might be afraid to come right out and say it. I know this is a board that concerns dog training but Ed does provide for many other different topics to be discussed.
Does anyone know of any articles worth reading concerning supplements, vitimans, minerals, amino acids, etc. on the Inernet that someone could go to for comparisons?
