Hello Folks!
I am currently seeking healthy dogs that are GSD's or Malinois (though the occasional Lab or Golden or other field dog would due as well)for detection work.
Most that would qualify are from working dog homes and are absolutly compulsive about retrieving anything.
The sort of dog that retrieves your lawn chairs and the ones where you finally quit hiding their favorite toy because they would never stop searching for it.

Hi Kevin. I passed your e-address to a "foster parent" of a 6 month old rescue working line GSD that Dave Blank evaluated here in November. Of course this was based on one view, but Dave thought this pup showed promise for good working characteristics. Dave actually suggested that this dog might do well with someone interested in detection work (bombs, arson, drugs, etc.).
I've found that in IL anyway, it can be tough to get a nice dog "who needs a job" out of the foster system and into the right hands. But if you hear from a woman named Dee in IL, that's probably the pup in question. She totally understands what she's up against within the system itself, and will do her best to push whatever boundaries she can.
If you hear from her, and there is any way me and Gary can help -possibly with Dave Blank's assistance - just let me know. We're all here every Saturday.
