Amber, pack drive between two canine housemates is not just gender related...
I don't think it's "just" anything, but I do think that the odds are higher for two females having rank problems than it is for two dogs of opposite gender. JMHO.
i suppose if you really have NO OTHER alternative, you will have to try to work with all of them. but you are setting yourself and them up for failure.
i commend you for your sincerity and desire to do the right thing, but you should listen to what the experienced people here are telling you. if you don't, someone could get hurt.
were i in your shoes, i would get the names of the top trainers in your region, explain your problem to them, and enlist their help in finding suitable homes for each of the dogs.
Amber, between any 2 dogs, both of them are immediately & always aware of each other's rank order compared with their own, but I certainly agree with you that 2 bitches or 2 dogs are often more likely to FIGHT over it than are opposite sex pairs -- That is, unless one is an Akita, LOL (my spayed female would just as soon beat up any MALE except Lazar, intact or neutered, as she would another bitch) !
The OP's problem w/collars would be solved with just ONE HS Prong, and extra links. I have one that I am constantly adjusting for different dogs. Your average pet dog is NOT going to be escaping from a properly fitted HS prong collar.
