I think it's more ignorance than anything else, along with the faddishness of it. I agree with you that puppy-mills anywhere are wrong. I'm glad that this lady realized that she's been breeding incorrectly & is at least doing something to help, no matter how small. But if there wasn't a market for rarities/unusual colors, they wouldn't be breeding them in the first place.
