John, are you going to get into Schutzhund?
You should go and visit any clubs that you have in your town, you'll learn a great deal.
I have quiet a few videos and adding more to my collection but nothing beats seeing it in person, foundation work, tracking, obedience and bite work ect..
Good luck, when is this puppy arriving and from where?
John - so glad to hear about the new pup. Be sure to keep us informed about him/her.
Thanks Jan,
Keep you informed? You'll hear of nothing else

Hi Angelique,
I went to SchH with my last dog for a couple of months for exactly the reasons you state, and in the hope of being trained myself by the folks there.
I hope to have a puppy around April/May but I haven't made solid arrangements with a breeder here yet as I want to make sure I get the right breeder and the right dog (also the head honcho at my local SchH club is helping me out with contacts and finding a good breeding). I was hoping not to have to import as that means I would have to get an older dog (due to Quarantine here) and I really want to start with a puppy (8 weeks).
Hopefully the pup will be 8 weeks. I've thought about getting that video but to be honest I already have a TON of stuff on that very subject, and one of the folks at my local club used to breed and she has some very nice stable dogs and will be able to assist in anything I'm not sure about. I may well still get it as I've not been disapointed with the DVD's I've bought so far but you know what it's like when you work to a budget, you get what is most important to you at that time
