The Ross Police Department and the Allegheny County Port Authority Police will be co-hosting Bob Eden’s International Police K9 Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania May 14th through May 18th 2007. This is a working conference and will provide the following courses of instruction.
EXPLOSIVE DOG PROGRAM: Odor Recognition, What the techs what you to know, Motivational techniques, Operational searches, Threat Assessment & Search Planning, Scenario based training, Knowing Your Dog - Proactive vs Reactive, Dignitary Details, Environmental Concerns, Problem Solving, Major Exercises (ALF & SHAC) Planning.
TACTICAL PATROL DOG PROGRAM: Tactical Building Searches, Chemical Munitions, High Risk Vehicle Stops, Low Light Firearms Training, Criminal Psychological Profiles, Problem Solving Techniques, K9 Behavior Manipulation
Agitator/Decoy Training, K9 Officer Safety Issues Legal Updates with Terry Fleck.
There will also be two non-handler / dog courses. A K9 Commander’s course and a Patrol Officer’s course will also be offered.
