I am a newbie to this board and I have some questions for experienced personal protection trainers who might be able to help.
I am retired Law Enforcement and some years back I was training police service dogs and personal protection dogs. I am thinking about getting back into this again but have some concerns. Any light shed on my questions would be greatly appreciated.
1. Before accpetinmg a new client...do any of you require a background check of the client to avoid placing a trained dog on the hands of some gunsil who would abuse the privilege of owning such an animal?
2. Is there any insurance company that provides insurance (liability etc) while you train such dogs??
3. What is the liability that the trainer is responsible for as he trains a personal protection dog...iow, can the trained be held liable for his clients actual use of a prtection trained dog? Thanks
Since your questions are unrelated to the original post here to which you're replying, maybe you could make a new post?
You'd probably get more attention that way; not everyone will look through old posts (especially ones that have already been thoroughly discussed).
Good luck finding answers. There are plenty of very experienced police K9 handlers and protection dog trainers on this board. I'm sure that they could give you excellent advice if you place your post where they can find it.
