This makes me so angry - animal abuse is probably the only thing that would make me violent. And the fact that there might be 2 witnesses, and I don't care WHAT their excuses are, why the (*&% didn't they do something!
Lynn, that is the major problem with many crimes, no one wants to get involved , yet they expect cops to solve the cases.Pathetic, stand up against evil, not hide from it, if people want to make a difference in their neighborhood they need to STEP UP!!!

Ah Angelique, we are of like mind. Maybe some "good old fashioned, Southwestern, let's kick some butt" attitude. If we could only teach others to realize that they CAN make a difference. Thanks for the post.
When I first read this story, I was in total shock. I could not get Kate out of my mind. Perhaps the 2 witnesses were children?? They may have been verbally intimidated, who knows. AT least someone did call for help and Kate got the medical treatment she needed. Sounds like she would have died if someone did not summon help for her.
Personally, I feel like I could do physical harm to the $#!!. Lets hope the monster's "friends" rat on him/her for the reward$$$.

Alice Oliver made that comment and I provided some support for it.
Emotionally, I agree 100% with wanting to take action and put a stop to such horrible acts. Personally, I'd charge in the same as Mark Sebran would have. I am an intimidating guy if provoked.
But, I am a realist and would not expect that from everyone. Some people are not made for confrontation such as that. As trainers, look at how we evaluate a dogs temperament for dealing with pressure and stress. Few pass the test. Besides, the police were called, they did what they could without putting themselves in harms way.
As far as the witness's go, it could be considered cowardly, but lets give them the benefit of the doubt. What if this sodomist was part of a gang that would retaliate. That is a lot different than a bad grudge with a pervert neighbor. They could end up robbed, raped, and murdered over it.
Sorry, I just had to defend Alice on this. I hope they get that S.O.B.
You know what's really sad...this is the second time a pitbull has been sexually abused in the last couple of months. I can't find a link to the other story, but the wife of the guy who raped their pitbull the first time wanted the dog put to sleep. Poor dog...wasn't her fault! I'm not sure if people got her into safety
