I was at wal-mart the other day and while buying tuna fish, sardines, etc, I saw a can of potted meat. (small can) I read the lable and said that it had chicken and beef in it... my question is does anyone know if this is good to add into the diet? I am assuming it isnt... Isnt potted meat rendered chcicken and beef? I didnt end up getting it thinking that it was not good to feed. Am I correct?

How much salt added? Anything else added?
I can't imagine that there is anything in it that a dog on raw would benefit from.
i have a sneaking suspicion that "potted meat" (never really heard of it before) is like hotdogs - mystery meat. i worked in a slaughterhouse for a while, i've seen the kind of crap they sent out to the hotdog (and dog food!!!) factory, and even though i still eat hot dogs from time to time, i don't believe anything on the packaging.
saying "X% beef" is really pretty vague when you think about it - think of all the parts of the cow we don't eat.
there is 2% salt in it. As I looked closer at the ingredients, see that it is rendered chicken and beef. Jamie, i think you hit it on the spot. "mystery meat"
Just wondering if anyone ever fed this and if it was okay??? again, i am assuming this is junk.
