Hello. I have been researching and reading etc. etc. and I am trying to find a vet in my area, I have called about 12 so far from yellow pages, I have done a google search, and cannot seem to find one near my area at all that will understand and go for the RAW diet and conerns on vaccinosis. Does anyone have any ideas on how/where to search? Or what to do now? I do NOT want to go back to my current vet, as when I took my new 8week old GS pup for a check, we did the distempter vaccine...well after getting home and looking at the paper it was a 5 in one of all kinds of sh*t. I am not happy! Please help.
Where are you located? my vet treats her clients like customers and spreaded the vacs out over time for me and feeds her Rottie raw. a couple of kennels drive out of there way for her and I think she does visits. got to shop around

Veterinarians do not dictate what vaccinations your dog gets or what food you feed. That's your job. I would not go back to the vet that gave your dog a 5 in 1 IF you are SURE you were very clear in communicating what you wanted. Most people have no clue what their dog needs to be inoculated against & leave it to the vets to decide. You may have to look long & hard to find a vet who endorses or feeds RAW. I feed RAW but I sure don't pick my dogs' vet based on that!!! I am more concerned with the vets overall medical skills.
Yes, I didn't mean that I was looking for a vet who actually endorses this, but one who will not nag when I go in and one who not push other things onto me. I did my reading and research and when we went to the vet and they said the pup needs this, this, and this, I said only distemper..... He also tried pushing Science Diet onto me.. so this is what I mean as far as I want to select what my dogs get/do not get and not be pushed into things.

Since you were very clear about not wanting the 5 in 1, and since he pushes SD (I'm sure he sells it), I would RUN, not walk away from this guy!!! You might want to call some breeders and training clubs in your area and see who they recommend. I would also visit some of the vet offices & see if you like what you see, & from there make an office appt for a general exam for your pup & get a feel for the vet that way. Also call or email the state licensing board before you go to check record. That is not a foolproof method, but it is another tool.
Now why didnt i think of calling breeders here?! DUH I will try that first thing tomorrow. I want to RUN far far away from this vet, but i have to take my other dog back to have her stiches removed. But I am staying in the room and NOTHING else will be done over my dead body! (oh ya..and their shelves were full of SD) After that...we are gone! I know there has to be someone out there...and I will find them..some how
