it seems my puppy likes to be fed with my other older dog - he'll actually eat and more with just himself he hardly eats. He eats more and they both do not fight or anything during the process. They eat from the same bowl actually. Is this okay since they seem okay with it or should i change that and if so why?

JMO: You should change that.
If they are OK eating together (and I would absolutely be present every time), they should still have their own bowls.
More than one reason, too. One is that you can never observe amounts or modify amounts for either dog, and that's something that DOES come up over the lives of many dogs for one reason or another.
Another is that either one may become threatened/worried by the possibility of not keeping what he is given.
Another is that it's a recipe for food aggression, no matter how they act right now.
A smaller reason is that if you practice NILIF, it will break down with two dogs and one bowl.
I think (JMO) that this is imperative, that each dog is secure in the knowledge that his food is his food and that you, the pack leader, will never allow his food to be taken from him.
