thanks for your input, susan. this is a kennel i used for many years, when my older dog was alive. we put both of them there together several times. they were great and conscientious people. the husband i swear was part dog, and ben really liked the wife.
it's just that it's been a few years. i think i will call them and see how the dog boarding business is treating them these days.
why do you feel the kennel is the best choice, providing ben is OK with it?

Well, you know its a given I am neurotic about my dog. I worry someone would try to correct him for something they don't like, or he would somehow get loose and then it's "see ya, sister"! I don't even like the idea of someone playing with my dog not supervised by me, since he is my serious sport prospect. It just seems like there is so much that could go wrong. I know a well run boarding establishment will make sure my dog is fed and watered correctly, my dog can't escape, and can't get into and eat anything he shouldn't! I have heard horror stories about some of these housesitters such as negligent care and them having guests, and it gives me the creeps to think of some stranger rifling through my stuff.
