I only do rabies on 2 of mine - nothing else - other 2: one is a senior and one is ill so they get no vaccines. I do not board my dogs so not an issue. Adult dogs do get wiped out by parvo when it runs thru shelters, I have seen it alot, so it happens - alot, and is tragic. I suspect with dogs who were never vaccinated or cared for properly, but you never know, strays do not come with histories, one had a rhinestone collar and painted toe nails  , so I assume some are well cared for. Gwen - have you e-mailed Catherine O'Driscoll in the UK - she is a wealth of info - all anti vaccine mind you LOL - but she would be helpful as to laws etc.
The reminder card for both my dog's booster jabs came in the post this morning. I have looked at the Catherine O'Driscoll articles/debates and have decided to speak to my own vet before I finally decide. He is a caring vet and I trust his advice - he even came out on a Sunday afternoon to euthanise my old dog as he didn't want her to suffer another bad night
So I guess I'll have a word and then make a decision. It's a bit of a Catch 22 situation.
I had a slight problem with my sar team too, when I decided to not vaccinate my dogs anymore (except for rabies which is require every 3rd year). But, I got all my "supporting documents" (everything I could find on why not to vaccinate yearly) and presented it to the unit. My argument for anyone who didn't like it was that it was my own dog that I was possibly putting at risk. If they believed in the vaccines so much and had their own dogs vaccinated then it shouldn't be a problem for for their dogs. We re-worded the policies and procedures for the unit to state that all dogs must be vaccinated according to the MN state law (which of course only requires rabies). I haven't vaccinated any of my dogs for the last 3 years and only plan to do a couple of initial vaccines for the next puppy (spread out). I also don't board my dogs so that isn't an issue. The training centers that I attend also don't like overdosing on vaccines so that works out well too.
Shandar - as I know your stance on vaccines - I am interested that you do titers - what would you do if they came back as showing no resistance - would you vaxx? And if no, then why do titers?

One part of the site provide results on actual durations of immunity. They "challenge" method involves exposing the animal to the pathogen. It is considered the best method of testing immune response.
