So, I cruising the net, checking out different dog breeds(ones that I would love to own, but unfortunately I don't have room right now for 20+ dogs, lol) ok so I find this website for bulldogs, hmm might be good. Read a couple things, one very long thing on how this guy is against BYB's and linebreeding due to increasing health issues(so far not bad). But then I read this http://southwestbulldogs.com/GeneticBreeders.html on the site. At the bottom he says that he starts breeding his females at 14-17 months of age and makes them have back to back litters until you make back your money... um, I don't know a whole hell of a lot about breeding dogs yet(learning) but I do know that 14-17 months old is waaayy too soon. Maybe I'm losing it, maube not. But I love dogs and would love to know why the hell someone would pay $25k to "learn" how to become a "genetic breeder". To fishy for me.
I have seen this guy before. He was on MTV's show "Rob & Big". They bought a bulldog named "Meaty" from him for like $6500. This guy is unfortunately taking advantage of all the free advertising he got from the show. I looked up his site the same day they said it on the show, about 7-8 mos ago. I recently looked it up about a month ago and now he has many photos of celebrities that have bought his bulldog pups. Breeding a 14 month old pup, "back to back" is wrong. Someone w/breeding experience should shoot him an email and tell him.
I don't think he'll listen though. Sad what happens to regular people's lives when famous people get involved-the guy is what he says he's against, a BYB, at least a breeder without the proper ethics.
