Lear is 9 mos old now, actually 9 1/2 months. He IS a big guy. I'm going to try and measure his withers today, I'm curious myself
Carbs just turned 6 months this weekend. I'm not sure of his measurements...he was about 50lbs before he lost some weight on his switch to raw.
His sire was a 90lb dog, and his mom was, I believe about 75 or 80lbs. Not sure how big he'll get, but we're trying to keep his growth slow and steady. He's a little too lean now, but he's on his way back.
Levi was weighed at about 4 months at the vet...came in around 46 pounds. He's just turned 5 months and much bigger than he was then...so I am figuring him around 50-55 pounds, however, I still think he looks too lean too, just like you think of Carbon, lol! The doctor loves his weight though, says he should stay lean to help w/hip/elbow issues. He told me all pups are way too fat! That we feed them too much. He said that if we feed them according to the bags recommendations that it's too much. Go figure. We are feeding raw and a very high quality dry so I guess we are okay. By the way, Carbon is gorgeous!!

Robbin: Another poster mentioned tracking and I second the idea. Tracking is an excellent way to exercise a young dog and is mentally stimulating as well. If you don't know how to get started, google "schutzhund tracking", you will find many articles. Susan Barwigs' book: Schutzhund Theory & Training Methods is very easy to understand and is very good. Finally, here is a link to a great new Schutzhund Tracking website: http://www.schutzhundtracking.com/
I also suggest this because training helps build the bond with your dog.
If you have questions about tracking, I would be happy to help you find the answers.
