There is a very good reason to Nueter your dog. The odds of him developing cancer later in life drastically reduce. Nuetered dogs have a much lower cancer rate. Now according to my sister who is a DVM in Lexington, KY. She says as long as the dog has reached 6 months of age its old enough to be nueutered and won't suffer ANY adverse effects from the nuetering. There is no difference in the physical development of your dog. Physically its the same dog, muscle size. He just can't reproduce.

There are differing opinions about this in the DVM community, with authoritative arguments on both sides, further complicated by the definitions of "early neutering."
Any search here will demonstrate this; there are many aspects besides reproduction (which, as a shelter volunteer, is a huge one for me): growth plate closure, long bone development, and on and on.......
