this morning i ran at another dog trying to get it to understand to stay away from my pups...we were playing on the field at 6:00am and then in the distance i saw this medium sized dog that looks like a Belgian Shepherd Dog (Tervuren) running towards us barking...and i shouted towards it to go, but it kept coming..in fear that it might be attacking my babies i ran towards it full steam and as i got abt 3/4 way it turned and changed direction...then i chased it for a while then it turned back at me and came runnin when i slowed down...and it came up to my feet barking and growling...but i stood my ground...staired it down and gave a soft growling and when it didnt stop i lunged at it and shouted like amad person...and the dog turned and coward out of the are with his tail between his legs...my heart was in my throat pounding and racing...i was all adrenalin...and when i turned around i realised the pups had put chase also and were sitting behind me in that alert ears up ready to move stance.
i have no idea what the implications of this will b on them....
im hoping they will b ok
I'm sure your pups will be just fine! They certainly didn't run away, they ran toward you. They instinctively knew you were their safety, that's how I read that. Rather bold of them to run toward their safety net even if it meant getting closer to danger. What a good team you 3 will make. Their demeanor as you described it, ears up and alert, doesn't sound like they were adversely affected at all. Cool
thanx..i hope this doesnt cause them to have any kind of adverse reaction to other dogs from now on...but i have noticed they dont like other dogs much..any other dogs come into the area and one of them will growl
