The expansive recall of kibble in the US opens up a clear window of what goes into dog kibble, regardless of whether it's "grocery type commerical kibble" or "ultra premium kibble".
Dog owners now know that these kibble companies don't know what or where their ingredients come from! It's out in the open that these companies are only as good (or rather BAD) as their Chinese suppliers. I was amazed that one particular company which I believed to be a producer of "Ultra Premium Dog Food" turned out to be part of the recall. It turned out that they too were reliant on dubious Chinese suppliers.
So all in all, the power of marketing made dog owners believe that they were giving their dog the best nutrition coming from the best ingredients: when in fact, they were merely feeding stuff coming from unknown compositions, of unknown quality from an unknown place somewhere in China!
