Wow! My pup LOVES the Canidae and it is a better value for the money.
(1) A 40 lbs bag of it costs $34 instead of the Nature's Variety 30lb bag for $45.
(2) Suggested serving size for my pup is 2-4 cups per day instead of 4-6 cups per day.
My pup is eating the full amount of 4 cups per day. He ate his NV but preferred his human food more ... and it was typical for me to pour stewed tomatoes on top of it, or mix in some craisins or bits of apples into the NV.
With the Canidae, he is happy to eat it without additives. Thanks for the posting about it and for Ed to have it in his list. I'm so glad I tried it and I'm sure that the Pup is too!
He loves the treat also!
And his stools are even better than before. Nice and Firm (& a little stinky, too). He is pooping 3 - 4 times per day.
Thanks again!
(p.s. been busy trying to open up a local gift store, so my on-line forum time has been extremely limited) Cheers!
Louanne, you sound just like me! I think Canidae needs to put us on their payroll. There is no better value when it comes to kibble, IMO. I am almost sad to switch to raw from Canidae, but I still think raw will be better for my pup. If that were no longer possible to feed, I will go right back to Canidae.
Here is another very happy customer of Canidae - thanks to this web site. My pup's original diet of Iams Large Breed Puppy Chow produced intermittent diarrhea and vomiting. After I found this web site and learned how bad Iams and other mass marketed dog foods were, I gradually started Nickie on Canidae with excellent results! He also gets a raw egg every other day and each morning gets a couple of spoonfuls of low-fat plain yogurt and low-fat cottage cheese. His black coat shines like satin and he seems to be in excellent health now.
Yesterday I noticed that one of the local health food stores that carries Canidae now has a banner out front that says "Natural Dog Food Sold Here".
